Community initiatives

The majority of our community development initiatives are in Asia, where we have our most substantial operated presence.

Our largest and most mature community programme is in Indonesia, where most of our projects are located in the Natuna Islands, close to the Anoa gas field. The projects in Indonesia focus on education, health, infrastructure, water supply, culture and capacity building of the local government.

Our Vietnam business unit has funded a number of projects over the last two years, focusing on primary education, infrastructure, emergency relief and support of selected charities. Our community programme in Vietnam is likely to grow over the years as we move closer to field development.

We are currently planning new community projects in the Republic of Congo and in Pakistan, which are likely to be implemented in 2010.
